It has been close to two years since we have written on this blog and I (Kate) plan to start writing again. We have had 11 birthdays, two Christmas’s, and numerous plane rides. But I can say we have had a pretty great time!
We finally met some boat kids in the beginning of February in 2014, where we met our great friends on Daydreamer, Fezywig, and Exodo. We stayed in St Maarten until July and then, after a bunch of pleading and negotiation, we head for Grenada. We stopped at almost every island down the chain, and explored and did activities. We hiked (a lot of hiking in rainforests and volcanos), swam in waterfalls, took many (many) car rides, read in local libraries, and swam ( lots and lots of swimming along with diving and jumping off the boat). We said goodbye to Fezywig before heading down to Grenada, but stayed with daydreamer.
We arrived in Grenada in August and stayed there until the beginning of December. While we were in Grenada we met so many new people, and LOTS of kids, most of which we are still in touch with today.
We would get together almost every day and play volleyball, or surf, or play card games, eat pizza, have potlucks, and hike to waterfalls. The waterfalls in Grenada are my favorite.
We had to say goodbye to every one, but my mom said cruisers don’t say goodbye, they say “ see you later” and I believe that as well.
At the beginning of December,we left Daydreamer and headed back up to St Maarten where we spent Christmas and we are still here. They eventually met back up with us, and we met some really cool people. Everyone has left for Grenada again to escape the hurricane zone, but for now we are in St Maarten and will catch up to people, and meet new people in the near future.
